A little bit about Tara Askham
Tara Askham worked in the accountancy profession before training to be a lecturer where she coordinated accounting courses at Central College, Nottingham. Tara advanced to write examination papers for both the National Qualifications Framework and Qualifications and Credit Framework for Bookkeeping and Accounting. She is the author of the globally award-winning Introduction to Finance Course for ACCA-X plus two books on accounting for Osborne Books and has wide experience in writing assessments for computerised testing. Tara is a consultant to numerous accountancy awarding bodies, writing and reviewing assessments and contributing to the Standards.
It was when Tara was studying accounting at the age of 21, as well as working full time, that she fell pregnant for the first time. Tara studied hard whilst balancing the different demands in her life but took note of how complicated it was and how inflexible traditional education institutions were. As she rose through the accountancy ranks, accomplishing a great deal in the field, Tara harboured a dream to set up her own pioneering business that tackled these barriers to changing lives.
