Exciting funded opportunity for your care home!

Thank you for your interest in an exciting pilot project we are delivering which will benefit your care home residents and staff funded by Comic Relief, UnLtd and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.

As a small, not for profit educational organisation, we change lives through innovative learning and coaching. Our ‘Inter-Generational Unity’ pilot project will gather small number of schools and care homes from across Nottinghamshire to share learning and fun on virtual platforms. Our mission is to combat loneliness and many other social barriers inflicted by this dreadful pandemic.

A small group of young people aged 9 to 16 will be selected to create a set of online themed resources for activity sessions that will be delivered to elderly residents in different care home settings. Coordinated by mentors and academic tutors, the themes will include art, local history, theatre, singing, story-telling, mindfulness, games and physical exercise.

The project is fully funded and managed by us including any material costs and therefore all that would be required would be for your care home to facilitate the activities which may include showing videos, taking live video calls, supporting craft activities etc. The short activities will last 20 minutes and will be designed to accommodate physical and mental disabilities and challenges.

A tailored plan will be put together for each care home based upon your residents needs and preferences as well as the facilities available. Delivery is fully insured and safeguarded and is planned for February/March 2021.

By taking part in this project, you will have lifetime access to an online platform of short, fun activities for your residents created by young people.

If you would like to be involved in the project, please complete the short online application form by 28th February 2021. We have limited places and therefore we recommend you apply as soon as possible.

Exciting funded opportunity for your School!

Thank you for your interest in an exciting pilot project we are delivering which will benefit your School and bring some amazing opportunities to a number of your students.

As a small, not for profit educational organisation, we change lives through innovative learning and coaching. Our ‘Inter-Generational Unity’ pilot project will gather a small number schools and care homes from across Nottinghamshire to share learning and fun on virtual platforms in a mission to combat loneliness and many other social barriers inflicted by this dreadful pandemic.

Young people aged 9 to 16 will be selected from each participating school to create a set of online themed resources for activity sessions that would then be delivered to elderly residents in different care home settings. Coordinated by mentors and academic tutors, the themes would include art, local history, theatre, singing, story-telling, mindfulness, games and physical exercise. The project is fully funded, insured, and managed by us including any material costs involved. As a school you would only be required therefore, to promote this opportunity and communicate with us to select a small number of individuals to take part.

Your selected students will engage with one another and their mentor to create an exciting array of activities built around these themes whilst gaining a multitude of skills and knowledge, from confidence and communication to IT and teamworking skills. Their engagement will also improve their interpersonal skills and mental wellbeing as well as their understanding and appreciation of the elder generations. There is an additional opportunity for your students to complete a Level 1 Award in Personal Potential as part of their participation. This can be discussed on an individual case basis.

Student participation in this project will take around 5 weeks requiring a commitment of 2 hours per week, starting February 2021. Participation will not impede school time and will be organised to fit around their school studies. There will be an awards ceremony for all participants on the project and students will receive a certificate of completion. The 3 top performing activities/groups as voted by the care home residents and staff will be awarded with prizes of £50.

We have a robust selection of safeguarding and other policies as well as full insurance and DBS checked teaching staff all of which will be made available to you should you join the project.

If you would like to be involved in the project, please complete the short online application form by 28th February 2021. We have limited places and therefore we recommend you apply as soon as possible.
